The strongest one so far of a series which started on 24.8.2016 with an earthquake with magnitude 6,0, which had almost 300 casualties. Regional seismic activity was increased in the following weeks, but slowly weakening. On 26.10.2016 new earthquakes occurred with magnitudes comparable to the first one: at 19:10 CEST with magnitude 5.4 and at 21:18 CEST with magnitude 5.9. The event of 30.10.2016 is the strongest so far and its epicentre lies between those of August and of 26.10.2016. The October earthquakes caused much structural damage, but no casualties have been reported so far. An increased seismic activity in the region can again be expected in the following days and weeks.
